An Avion Express Malta Airbus A320-200 on behalf of VivaAerobus, registration 9H-MLV performing flight
VB-2220 from Cancun to Ciudad Juarez (Mexico), was enroute at FL360 over the Gulf of Mexico when the crew initiated an emergency descent to FL100 due to the loss of cabin pressure. The aircraft subsequently diverted to Monterrey (Mexico) for a safe landing on runway 30 about 75 minutes later.
A replacement VivaAerobus A320-200 registration XA-VDH reached Ciudad Juarez with a delay of about 3.5 hours.
The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Monterrey about 20 hours after landing.
