A Gol Transportes Aereos Boeing 737-8 MAX, registration PS-GPF performing flight
G3-1694 from Sao Paulo Guarulhos,SP to Salvador,BA (Brazil) with 174 passengers and 6 crew, was enroute at FL370 about 60nm south of Belo Horizonte,MG (Brazil) when the left hand engine (LEAP) failed. The crew shut th engine down and diverted to Belo Horizonte for a safe landing on runway 16 about 30 minutes after leaving FL370.
The aircraft remained on the ground for about 51 hours before returning to service.
