A Gol Transportes Aereos Boeing 737-800, registration PR-GGR performing flight
G3-1511 from Salvador,BA to Sao Paulo Guarulhos,SP (Brazil), was on approach to Sao Paulo when the right hand engine (CFM56) failed. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on Guarulhos' runway 10R.
Brazil's CENIPA reported engine #2 malfunctioned on approach to Sao Paulo, the aircraft landed without major complications. The occurrence was rated an incident.
The aircraft returned to service about 9 hours after landing.
