A Horizon Air de Havilland Dash 8-400 on behalf of Alaska Airlines, registration N438QX performing flight
AS-2256 from Pasco,WA to Seattle,WA (USA), was enroute at 16,000 feet about 40nm northwest of Yakima,WA (USA) when the crew decided to divert to Yakima after sparks were seen in the galley. The aircraft landed safely in Yakima about 14 minutes later.
A replacement Dash 8-400 registration N430QX reached Seattle with a delay of about 4 hours.
The airline reported there was no fire and no smoke, the passengers disembarked normally at Yakima.
