An Iberia Airbus A320-200, registration EC-IEG performing flight
IB-3234 from Madrid,SP (Spain) to Rome Fiumicino (Italy), was enroute at FL340 about 50nm west of Barcelona,SP (Spain) when the crew initiated an emergency descent to FL100 due to the loss of cabin pressure. The aircraft diverted to Barcelona for a safe landing on runway 24R about 35 minutes after leaving FL340.
The remainder of the flight was cancelled.
The occurrence aircraft resumed service after about 19 hours on the ground.
