An Air India Express Airbus A320-200, registration VT-ATF performing flight
IX-2610 from Chennai to Port Blair (India), was on final approach Port Blair's runway 04 when the crew went around due to the weather. The crew positioned for another approach to runway 04, but again needed to go around about 10 minutes later. The crew thus decided to return to Chennai, climbed to FL380, and landed on Chennai's runway 25 about 4:05 hours after departure.
On Nov 28th 2025 India's AAIB reported the aircraft diverted to Chennai due to weather. At about 1.5 tons of fuel the crew declared Mayday Fuel. After landing 540kg of fuel were remaining on board. The occurrence was rated a serious incident and is being investigated.
