An Indigo Airbus A320-200N, registration VT-ITB performing flight 6E-6394 from Guwahati to Delhi (India), was climbing out of Guwahati's runway 02 when the crew stopped the climb at about 2000 feet after the left hand engine (PW1127G) ingested a bird. The aircraft returned to Guwahati for a safe landing on runway 20 about 15 minutes after departure.

A post flight inspection revealed two fan blades of the left hand engine had fractured and separated at their root (but were contained), all other fan blades showed damage to their tips and leading edges.

The airline reported the left hand engine got damaged when a bird was ingested at about 1600 feet MSL. The crew worked the related checklists, shut the engine down and returned to Guwahati.
