An Indigo Airbus A321-200N, registration VT-IUF performing flight
6E-455 from Kolkata to Bangalore (India), was climbing out of Kolkata when the crew stopped the climb at about FL190, shut the right hand engine (PW1133G) down due to an engine stall indication and magnetic chip detector indication and returned to Kolkata for a safe landing on runway 01R about 30 minutes after departure.
The airline reported the aircraft suffered a technical issue, the crew applied standard operating procedures and returned to Kolkata.
India's DGCA is looking into the occurrence involving an engine shut down.
The aircraft is still on the ground in Kolkata about 28.5 hours after landing back.
