A Jazz Canadair CRJ-900, registration C-GLJZ performing flight QK-721 from Toronto,ON (Canada) to Minneapolis,MN (USA), was enroute at FL360 about 90nm east of Minneapolis when the captain's airspeed disappeared and low speed and high speed cues appeared on his displays. The stick shaker activated on the captain's side and the autopilot disconnected. The airspeed indications of the first officer and standby system appeared normal. During the descent towards Minneapolis the crew also received a stall fail message. The crew declared PAN PAN, worked the related checklists and continued for a safe landing on Minneapolis' runway 30R.

The Canadian TSB reported the aircraft (misidentifying C-FCJZ, which did the flight the following day) landed without further issue, there was no major passenger reaction.

The aircraft returned to service about 12.5 hours after landing.
