A Jet2.com Boeing 737-300, registration G-GDFM performing flight LS-255 from Leeds,EN (UK) to Girona,SP (Spain), was climbing out of Leeds' runway 32 when unusual noises (engines CFM56) were heard from the aircraft. The crew stopped the climb at 7000 feet and returned to Leeds for a safe landing on runway 32 about 30 minutes after departure.

A passenger reported the crew suspected a bird strike.

Local residents reported there was horrible noise as the aircraft passed over them.

The airport reported: "We can confirm outbound flight LS255 to Girona aborted takeoff this morning" (Editorial note: ????), emergency services were on standby, the flight returned safely.
