A Jet2.com Boeing 737-800, registration G-DRTW performing flight
LS-189 from Glasgow,SC (UK) to Palma Mallorca,SP (Spain) with 187 passengers and 6 crew, was enroute at FL350 when due to the weather situation in Mallorca the aircraft had to enter a number of holding patterns. The aircraft landed safely on Palma's runway 24L 3:26 hours after departure.
Spain's CIAIAC reported on Sep 20th 2023, that the aircraft needed to extend its flight time of usually 2:30 hours due to storms at Mallorca. The crew was forced to declare Mayday as landing with the final fuel reserve of 1159kg of fuel was no longer ensured. The aircraft finally landed at its destination with 39kg less than the required final fuel reserve (=1120kg of fuel remaining). The CIAIAC are investigating the occurrence.
