A LATAM Brasil Airbus A321-200, registration PT-MXH performing flight
LA-3303 from Florianapolis,SC to Sao Paulo Guarulhos,SP (Brazil), was accelerating for takeoff from Florianpolis' runway 32 when the left hand engine (V2533) emitted a loud bang and streaks of flames and sparks prompting the crew to reject takeoff at low speed. The aircraft returned to the apron.
A replacement A321-200 registration PT-XPD reached Sao Paulo with a delay of 5.5 hours.
The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Florianopolis about 18 hours after the rejected takeoff.
