An Avion Express Malta Airbus A320-200 on behalf of Transavia, registration 9H-AMP performing flight HV-6653 from Eindhoven (Netherlands) to Malaga,SP (Spain), was on final approach to Malaga's runway 12 when far down the runway an airport falconer walked onto the runway. About 20 seconds after the falconer had stepped onto the runway the A320 initiated a go around from about 500 feet MSL, climbed to 7000 feet, positioned for another approach and landed without further incident on runway 12 about 20 minutes after the go around.

According to Spanish media reports the falconer was trying to get hold of his falcon, who had caught another bird in flight and landed with his prey on the runway.

According to ADS-B data the aircraft went around from 475 feet MSL about 1.56nm before the runway threshold.
