A Nolinor Boeing 737-200, registration C-GNLN performing flight N5-950 from Thompson,MB to Val-d'Or,QC (Canada) with 76 people on board, was climbing out of Thompson when the cabin altitude climbed above 14000 feet causing the automatic release of the passenger oxygen masks. The crew iniitated an emergency descent to 16,000 feet and returned to Thompson for a safe landing.

The Canadian TSB reported maintenance found the automatic pressurization system was unserviceable. The aircraft was released under minimum equipment list requirements and was ferried to Montreal Mirabel,QC (Canada) for repairs.
