A People's Viennaline Embraer ERJ-170, registration OE-LMK performing flight PE-921 from Lamezia Terme (Italy) to Altenrhein (Switzerland), was on approach to Altenrhein when the crew aborted the approach, entered a hold and subsequently diverted to Zurich (Switzerland) due to flaps problem requiring the longer runway. The aircraft landed safely on Zurich's runway 16 about 30 minutes after aborting the approach to Altenrhein.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Zurich about 33 hours after landing.
