A Piedmont Airlines Embraer ERJ-145 on behalf of American Airlines, registration N663AR performing flight
AA-6105 from Chattanooga,TN to Charlotte,NC (USA) with 50 passengers and 3 crew, was accelerating for takeoff from Chattanooga's runway 20 at high speed (maximum speed over ground 146 knots). The aircraft overran the end of the runway by about 66 meters/200 feet stopping in grass. The aircraft was able to turn around on own power, returned onto the runway and taxied to the apron.
Passengers reported the crew announced, that the crew was pulling the yoke to rotate the aircraft, however, the aircraft did not go up.
The FAA reported: "Piedmont Airlines Flight 6105 went into the runway safety area at Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport after the crew aborted its takeoff around 10:10 a.m. local time on Monday, Aug. 3. The FAA will investigate."
