UA-3702 from Newark,NJ to Greenville-Spartanburg,SC (USA), was climbing out of Newark's runway 22R when the crew stopped the climb at 7000 feet reporting they had a cracked windshield. The aircraft returned to Newark for a safe landing on runway 29 about 40 minutes after departure.
A replacement Embraer ERJ-175 registration N746YX reached Greenville-Spartanburg with a delay of 3.5 hours.
The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Newark about 16 hours after landing back.
