A Rossiya Boeing 747-400 on behalf of Aeroflot, registration EI-XLM performing flight SU-6288 from Khabarovsk to Moscow Sheremetyevo (Russia) with 422 passengers and 15 crew, was enroute at FL360 about 400nm northwest of Krasnojarsk (Russia) when the crew received a cargo smoke indication and decided to divert to Krasnojarsk. The aircraft landed in Krasnojarsk about one hour later.

A replacement Boeing 777-300 registration EI-GFB was dispatched to Krasnojarsk and reached Moscow with a delay of about 12.5 hours.

The aircraft remained on the ground for 28.5 hours, then positioned to Sheremetyevo as flight FV-5402. The aircraft is still on the ground in Sheremetyevo about 3.5 days after landing in Moscow.

On Aug 26th 2020 Rosaviatsia reported the crew received a forward cargo smoke indication, worked the related checklists and discharged the fire suppression system in the cargo bay. The smoke indication ceased. The aircraft landed in normal mode. A post flight inspection revealed no evidence of fire, heat or smoke.
