An Air Serbia Airbus A319-100, registration YU-APK performing flight
JU-201 from Tivat (Montenegro) to Belgrade (Serbia), was climbing out of Tivat's runway 32 when a loud bang was heard from one of the engines (V2524), subsequently smoke was observed in the cabin. The crew stopped the climb at about 5500 feet, shut the engine down and returned to Tivat for a safe landing on runway 32 about 40 minutes after departure.
The aircraft is still on the ground in Tivat about 8 hours after landing back.
The airline reported the aircraft returned to Tivat due to technical and precautionary reasons.
