A Spirit Airlines Airbus A320-200, registration N611NK performing flight NK-297 from Orlando,FL to Nashville,TN (USA), was on approach to Nashville's runway 02R descending through about 4000 feet when a bird impacted the right hand wing. The aircraft continued for a safe landing.

The FAA reported: "AIRCRAFT ENCOUNTERED BIRDSTRIKE AT 4000 FEET CAUSING UNSPECIFIED DAMAGE TO RIGHT WING."

The aircraft is still on the ground in Nashville about 24 hours after landing.
