NK-706 from Detroit,MI to Los Angeles,CA (USA) with 188 peple on board, was enroute at FL360 about 5nm northeast of Lincoln,NE (USA) when the crew decided to divert to Lincoln due to a smoke indication on board. The aircraft landed safely on Lincoln*s runway 18 about 20 minutes later. Emergency services found no trace of fire, heat or smoke.
A replacement A320-200 registration N649NK reached Los Angeles with a delay of about 5.5 hours.
The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground for about 6 hours, then positioned to Dallas Ft. Worth,TX (USA).
