A Spirit Airlines Airbus A321-200, registration N682NK performing flight NK-139 from Newark,NJ to Orlando,FL (USA), was on final approach to Orlando's runway 35R when the aircraft suffered a bird strike against the nose. The aircraft landed safely and taxied to the apron.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 6 hours before continuing service.

The FAA reported: "AIRCRAFT STRUCK A BIRD ON LANDING RUNWAY 35R DAMAGING THE NOSE CONE, ORLANDO, FL (MCO)", rated the damage minor and the occurrence an incident.
