A SriLankan Airbus A330-200, registration 4R-ALS performing flight
UL-121 from Colombo (Sri Lanka) to Chennai (India), was on approach to Chennai's runway 25 when the crew stopped the descent at 2000 feet and went around climbing back to 3000 feet due to a hydraulic failure. The aircraft positioned for another approach to runway 25 and continued for a safe landing - with emergency services in stand by positions - about 15 minutes after the go-around.
The aircraft was unable to depart for the return flight UL-122 and is still on the ground in Chennai about 13 hours after landing.
