A StarSky Fokker 50, registration 6O-YAS performing a flight from Mogadishu (Somalia) to Galkayo (Puntland) with 55 people on board, was climbing out of Mogadishu when the crew encountered a technical problem and decided to return to Mogadishu. The crew lost control of the aircraft after landing, veered off the runway, went down a cliff and came to a stop at the beach. There were no injuries reported, however, the aircraft suffered substantial damage.

Somalia's CAA reported the aircraft returned for an emergency landing due to a technical malfunction, during roll out the crew lost control of the aircraft, which went down a cliff and came to rest at the sea level. An investigation has been opened.
