A THY Turkish Airlines Airbus A330-200, registration TC-JNB performing flight TK-537 from Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) to Conakry (Guinea) with 134 people on board, had climbed to FL400 enroute and was on approach to Conakry when the crew reported they had encountered turbulence causing injuries on board. The aircraft continued for a landing on runway 06. Five passengers were taken to a hospital.

Guinea's Authorities reported the crew of the aircraft, that was enroute to Conakry from Istanbul via Ouagadougou, advised tower they had encountered severe turbulence and had injuries on board. A crisis center was immediately set up at Conakry, the arriving passengers were assessed, five of them were transported to a hospital.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 7 hours before departing for the return flight TK-538 with a delay of about 5 hours.
