A United Boeing 737-700, registration N13718 performing flight
UA-1513 from Key West,FL to Newark,NJ (USA), was enroute at FL380 about 90nm south of Washington,DC (USA) when the crew decided to divert to Washington Dulles reporting a fire in the cabin. The aircraft landed safely on Dulles Airport's runway 19L about 20 minutes later.
The FAA reported: "United Airlines Flight 1513 landed safely at Washington Dulles International Airport around 4:45 p.m. local time Thursday, April 3, after the crew reported a fire in the cabin. The Boeing 737 departed Key West International Airport in Florida and was traveling to Newark Liberty International Airport. The FAA will investigate."
The airline reported light smoke emanated from a aft galley oven.
A replacement Boeing 737-9 MAX registration N37510 reached Newark with a delay of about 5:10 hours.
The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Washington about 14.5 hours after landing.
