UA-990 from San Francisco,CA (USA) to Paris Charles de Gaulle (France) with 274 passengers and 13 crew, was enroute at FL330 about 70nm southeast of Calgary,AB (Canada) when the captain became incapacitated. A relief pilot assumed the captain's duties, the crew diverted the aircraft to Calgary for a safe landing on runway 35R about 30 minutes later.
The aircraft remained on the ground for about 4.5 hours, then returned to San Francisco.
