A United Boeing 787-9, registration N29971 performing flight
UA-83 (dep Jun 8th) from Delhi (India) to Newark,NJ (USA), completed a seemingly uneventful flight after departure from Delhi's runway 11L with a landing on Newark's runway 22L.
The FAA reported however: "AIRCRAFT STRUCK A BIRD AND POST FLIGHT INSPECTION REVEALED DAMAGE TO THE #1 ENGINE COWLING, NEWARK, NJ." (engine GEnx).
The aircraft remained on the ground in Newark for 17 hours before returning to service.
