An Alaska Airlines Boeing 737-900, registration N461AS performing flight
AS-309 from Washington Dulles,DC to Los Angeles,CA (USA) with 175 passengers and 6 crew, departed Washington Dulles' runway 19L when the left inboard main tyre blew with the crew remaining unaware. The aircraft continued the flight, the crew was later told by air traffic control that debris presumably from their tyre had been found on th edeparture runway. The passengers were instructed to brace for landing at Los Angeles. The aircraft landed without incident on runway 25R about 5:10 hours after departure.
The FAA reported: "Alaska Airlines Flight 309 landed safely at Los Angeles International Airport around 8:05 p.m. local time on Thursday, Nov. 14, after the crew reported a possible wheel issue on departure. The Boeing 737-900 departed from Washington Dulles International Airport. The FAA will investigate. "
