An American Airlines Boeing 777-200, registration N784AN performing flight AA-108 from New York JFK,NY (USA) to London Heathrow,EN (UK) with 198 people on board, was enroute at FL370 about 160nm eastnortheast of Boston,MA (USA) when the crew decided to turn around and divert to Boston advising ATC they were working on an issue, where the aircraft landed safely on runway 33L about 110 minutes after departure and taxied to the apron.

Passengers reported the crew announced engine (Trent 892) issues.

The aircraft had replaced NN772AN on flight AA-108 from Boston to London, that diverted to New York earlier, see Incident: American B772 at Boston on Jul 20th 2026, could not retract gear.
