An ANA All Nippon Airways Boeing 777-200, registration JA717A performing flight NH-994 from Okinawa to Tokyo Haneda (Japan) with 408 people on board, was enroute at FL390 about 110nm southeast of Nagoya (Japan) when the crew decided to divert to Nagoya due to a problem with one of the engine (PW4090) anti ice systems. The aircraft landed safely on Nagoya's runway 18 about 30 minutes later.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 6 hours, then continued the flight and reached Tokyo with a delay of about 7 hours.
