An ANZ Air New Zealand Airbus A320-200, registration ZK-OXF performing flight
NZ-405 from Auckland to Wellington (New Zealand), was on approach to Wellington when the crew stopped the descent at 3000 feet reporting hydraulic problems. After entering a hold the crew decided to divert to Christchurch (New Zealand) where the aircraft landed safely about 55 minutes after aborting the approach to Wellington.
Passengers reported the crew told them 2 of three brakes were not working, therefore they were diverting to Christchurch for the longer runway available.
The airline reported a hydraulic system issue.
