An ANZ Air New Zealand de Havilland Dash 8-300, registration ZK-NER performing flight
NZ-5409 from Christchurch to Invercargill (New Zealand), was on final approach to Invercargill's runway 22 when the crew initiated a go around from about 600 feet AGL due to an unsafe gear indication. The aircraft entered a hold while the crew was working the checklists, then positioned for a low approach to runway 22 to have the landing gear inspected from the ground, entered another hold and landed on runway 22 about 75 minutes after the missed approach and about 35 minutes after the low approach.
The aircraft returned to service about 48 hours after landing.
