An Aerolineas Argentinas Boeing 737-800, registration LV-FSK performing flight AR-1740 from Buenos Aires Aeroparque,BA to Iguazu,MI (Argentina), was enroute at FL350 about 40nm south of Posadas when the crew decided to divert to Posadas reporting a strong burning odour on board. The aircraft landed safely on Poasadas' runway 02 about 16 minutes after leaving FL350.

Authorities reported emergency services were ready to receive the aircraft, 200 passengers on board of the aircraft were "lowered" without any problems.

A replacement Boeing 737-800 registration LV-FVN reached Iguazo with a delay of about 6 hours.

The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground in Posadas for about 26 hours after landing.

On Oct 26th 2023 Argentina's JST reported the occurrence was rated an incident. While enroute the crew declared emergency due to smoke in the cabin and diverted to Posadas for a safe landing.
