A BAW British Airways Boeing 777-200, registration G-VIIR performing flight BA-2204 (dep Feb 3rd) from Punta Cana (Dominican Republic) to London Gatwick,EN (UK), was enroute shortly after departure from Punta Cana when passengers and crew noticed a strange odour near the back of the aircraft. Several cabin crew began to feel nauseous and dizzy, one of them needed to be taken to hospital after landing at Gatwick airport about 7 hours after departure.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 27 hours before returning to service.
