A British Airways Airbus A319-100, registration G-EUPS performing flight
BA-1457 from Edinburgh,SC to London Heathrow,EN (UK), was enroute at FL290 when the crew declared emergency due to problems with the avionics, unreliable position information and the loss of autopilot and autothrust. The crew continued the flight manually to Heathrow, needed to go around on first approach to runway 27R, positioned for another approach and landed safely on runway 27R about 50 minutes after declaring emergency.
The British AAIB rated the occurrence a serious incident and opened an investigation.
The aircraft remained on the ground in London until Nov 4th 2025.
