A British Airways Airbus A320-200, registration G-EUYK performing flight
BA-764 from London Heathrow,EN (UK) to Oslo (Norway), was enroute at FL310 over the North Sea about 90nm northwest of Amsterdam (Netherlands) when the crew decided to divert to Amsterdam reporting smoke in the cockpit. The aircraft landed safely on Amsterdam's runway 18R about 21 minutes later. Emergency services did not detect evidence of a fire.
A replacement A320-200 registration G-EUYM continued the flight and reached Oslo the following day with a delay of about 18 hours.
The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Amsterdam about 46 hours after landing.
The airline reported the aircraft diverted to Amsterdam due to a minor technical problem.
