A Cathay Pacific Airbus A330-300, registration B-LAQ performing flight
CX-431 from Kaohsiung (Taiwan) to Hong Kong (China), was accelerating for takeoff from Kaohsiung's runway 09 when the crew rejected takeoff at low speed (less than 30 KIAS) after the right hand engine (Trent 772) emitted streaks of flames and a bang. The aircraft slowed safely and returned to the apron.
The flight was cancelled.
The aircraft is still on the ground in Kaohsiung about 29 hours after the rejected takeoff.
