A Delta Airlines Boeing 757-200, registration N555NW performing flight
DL-2204 from Atlanta,GA to Orlando,FL (USA) with 199 passengers and 6 crew, was climbing out of Atlanta's runway 09L when the crew stopped the climb at about 9000 feet reporting fumes on the flight deck. The aircraft returned to Atlanta for a safe landing on runway 09R about 17 minutes after departure, vacated the runway, crossed runway 09L and stopped clear of both runways.
The airline reported the crew declared emergency due to fumes in the cockpit. The aircraft was evacuated via slides on the taxiway. The passengers were taken to the terminal by bus. A new aircraft is going to take them to Orlando.
