A Delta Airlines Boeing 757-200, registration N659DL performing flight DL-1334 from Atlanta,GA to Fort Lauderdale,FL (USA) with 185 passengers and 6 crew, was enroute at FL350 about 40nm north of Fort Myers,FL (USA) when the crew decided to divert to Fort Myers due to passenger's personal battery emitting smoke. Cabin crew secured the device and put it into a safe container. The aircraft landed safely on Fort Myers' runway 24 about 15 minutes later.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 5.5 hours, then completed the flight to Fort Lauderdale arriving with a delay of about 6:15 hours.
