A Delta Airlines Boeing 757-300, registration N589NW performing flight
DL-1554 from Fort Lauderdale,FL to Atlanta,GA (USA) with 228 passengers and 6 crew, was descending towards Atlanta when the aircraft received a lightning strike. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on runway 10.
The FAA reported: "AIRCRAFT WAS STRUCK BY LIGHTNING DAMAGING THE LEFT TRANSPONDER AND SPOTS OF VISIBLE DAMAGE TO THE HULL, ATLANTA, GA."
The aircraft is still on the ground in Atlanta 22 hours after landing.
