An Easyjet Airbus A320-200N, registration G-UZHA performing flight U2-2251 from Manchester,EN (UK) to Hurghada (Egypt), was on approach to Hurghada's runway 34L descending to about 2900 feet on downwind when the EGPWS issued a warning prompting the crew to climb back to 4000 feet while turning for base. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on runway 34L about 7 minutes later.

On Mar 29th 2025 Egypt's AAID reported the occurrence was rated a serious incident characterized as "Near CFIT on approach (EGPWS closure)" and is being investigated.

The captain reported the incident himself, the airline forwarded the report to the authorities.
