An Easyjet Europe Airbus A320-200N, registration OE-LSR performing flight U2-7781 from Porto (Protugal) to Sal (Cape Verde), was on approach to Sal's runway 01 when a bird impacted the aircraft. The aircraft continued for a safe landing.

The aircraft was unable to continue service and is still on the ground in Sal about 48 hours later.

A replacement Airbus A320-200N registration OE-LSP was dispatched to Sal the following day with maintenance engineers on board and took the passengers to Porto with a delay of about 17.5 hours.
