An Emirates Airbus A380-800, registration A6-EUL performing flight EK-262 from Sao Paulo Guarulhos,SP (Brazil) to Dubai (United Arab Emirates), was accelerating for takeoff from Sao Paulo's runway 10L when one of the left hand engines (GP7270) emitted a bang and streaks of flames prompting the crew to reject takeoff at low speed (about 40 knots over ground). The aircraft returned to the apron.

The flight was cancelled.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Sao Paulo about 37 hours after the rejected takeoff.
