An Iberia Airbus A320-200, registration EC-MDK performing flight
IB-694 from Catania (Italy) to Madrid,SP (Spain) with 146 passengers and 6 crew, was enroute at FL350 overflying Palma Mallorca,SP (Spain) when the crew observed a weather balloon. The aircraft continued to Madrid for a safe landing.
On Nov 4th 2025 Spain's CIAIAC reported the weather balloon passed approximately 200 meters/660 feet to the right of the aircraft and about 30 meters/100 feet above. The occurrence is being investigated.
