An Indigo Airbus A321-200N, registration VT-IBI performing flight 6E-6054 from Delhi to Bangalore (India), departed Delhi's runway 09 but struck its tail onto the runway surface. The crew continued the flight, climbed to FL350 and landed without further incident on Bangalore's runway 27L. There were no injuries, the aircraft sustained substantial damage however.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Bangalore standing Sep 18th 2024.

The airline reported the aircraft is grounded due to a tail strike.

India's DGCA is investigating the occurrence, the black boxes have already been sent for further analysis.

On Oct 6th 2024 India's DGCA reported: "Flight VIDP (New Delhi) – VOBL (Bengaluru). Post arrival, the walk around inspection was carried out and the lower part of a fuselage revealed the damages observed between frame no.60 to frame no.70 and from stringers 40LH to 40RH."
