A JAL Japan Airlines Airbus A350-900, registration JA02XJ performing flight
JL-521 from Tokyo Haneda to Sapporo Chitose (Japan), was descending through FL250 towards Sapporo about 80nm out of Sapporo when the crew suddenly lost communication with air traffic control due to the failure of all their radios. The aircraft followed procedures for loss of communication, continued to Sapporo, was cleared to land via light guns, and landed safely on runway 01R about 40 minutes later.
The aircraft returned to service about 16 hours after landing.
