A Jazeera Airways Airbus A320-200, registration 9K-CAJ performing flight
J9-735 from Kuwait City (Kuwait) to Cairo (Egypt), was climbing out of Kuwait's runway 33L when the right hand engine (CFM56) ingested a bird and failed. The crew stopped the climb at 3000 feet and returned to Kuwait for a safe landing on runway 33L about 25 minutes after departure.
All fan blades received damage.
The aircraft is still on the ground in Kuwait City about 40 hours after landing back.
