A Jazz de Havilland Dash 8-400, registration C-GGNY performing flight QK-8281 from Prince Rupert,BC to Vancouver,BC (Canada) with 42 passengers and 4 crew, was enroute at FL250 about 300nm northnorthwest of Vancouver when the crew initiated an emergency descent to 14,000 feet (MSA) due to the loss of cabin pressure. When clear of terrain the aircraft further descended to 10,000 feet about 10 minutes later. While at 10,000 feet the crew was able to regain pressurization. The aircraft continued to Vancouver for a safe landing.

The Canadian TSB reported maintenance found a leak at the aft baggage door inflatable seal.
