A LATAM Brasil Airbus A320-200, registration PR-MYI performing flight
LA-3633 from Salvador,BA to Sao Paulo Congonhas,SP (Brazil), was climbing out of Salvador's runway 10 when the crew stopped the climb at 4000 feet due to an engine emitting bangs and streaks of flames. The engine was shut down and the aircraft returned to Salvador for a safe landing on runway 10 about 25 minutes after departure.
The airline reported the failed engine ingested a bird.
The flight was cancelled.
